Seven major automakers have joined forces to create a new electric vehicle (EV) charging network in North America

Seven major automakers have announced plans to form a new joint venture to build a high-powered electric vehicle charging network in North America.

The companies involved are BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis.

The joint venture is expected to invest billions of dollars to build at least 30,000 charging stations across the United States and Canada. The stations will be compatible with both Tesla’s Supercharger network and the Combined Charging System (CCS) standard.

The goal of the joint venture is to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in North America by making charging more convenient and accessible. The network is expected to be operational by 2024.
