Samsung Unveils World’s First 130-Inch Micro RGB TV at CES 2026, Redefining Large-Screen Display Technology

Samsung has officially unveiled what it calls the world’s first 130-inch Micro RGB television at CES 2026, marking a major milestone in the evolution of large-format display technology. The new model, internally codenamed R95H, is being positioned as Samsung’s most advanced television to date, with a strong focus on color accuracy, scale, and next-generation visual performance.

At the core of the R95H is Samsung’s Micro RGB technology, which moves beyond traditional LED and OLED approaches by using individually controlled red, green, and blue light sources. This design allows for precise color reproduction and eliminates the need for color filters or white subpixels, resulting in cleaner light output and improved color fidelity.

Samsung claims the R95H achieves full coverage of the BT.2020 color gamut, the widest color space currently defined for consumer displays. According to the company, the TV delivers 100 percent BT.2020 coverage, making it the most color-accurate modern television ever introduced. This level of color performance is particularly significant for cinematic content, high-end gaming, and professional-grade visual experiences.

The massive 130-inch screen size places the R95H firmly in the ultra-premium category. Designed for luxury home theaters and commercial environments, the display is intended to provide an immersive viewing experience that rivals professional cinema setups. The scale of the panel, combined with Micro RGB precision, allows for exceptional detail, even when viewed up close.

Samsung emphasized that color performance was a central priority in the development of the R95H. Wider color coverage enables more lifelike visuals, smoother gradients, and richer tones that closely match real-world lighting conditions. This becomes increasingly important as more content is produced using advanced color grading standards and high dynamic range formats.

In addition to color accuracy, Micro RGB technology offers advantages in brightness control and contrast. Because each RGB element is self-emissive and independently managed, the TV can produce deep blacks alongside vivid highlights without the blooming issues commonly associated with traditional backlit displays. This contributes to a more consistent image across the entire screen.

The unveiling of the R95H comes as competition in the ultra-large TV market intensifies. Manufacturers are pushing boundaries in size, brightness, and color performance to attract high-end consumers. By introducing the first 130-inch Micro RGB TV with full BT.2020 coverage, Samsung is setting a new reference point for premium display innovation.

While Samsung has not yet disclosed pricing or availability details, the R95H is expected to remain a showcase product aimed at demonstrating the future direction of television technology. Industry analysts anticipate that elements of Micro RGB technology could eventually trickle down into smaller, more accessible consumer models.

As CES 2026 continues to highlight rapid advancements in display engineering, Samsung’s 130-inch Micro RGB TV stands out as a bold statement. It underscores the company’s commitment to pushing visual realism to new levels, redefining what is possible in large-screen home entertainment.
