Sony has unveiled a new range of transparent PlayStation 5 accessories, giving gaming enthusiasts an opportunity to customize their consoles with a distinctive see-through design. The newly announced Prism Collection features transparent DualSense controllers and matching PS5 console covers in three different color options.
The collection introduces Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray, allowing players to choose a style that matches their gaming setup. The transparent finish also reveals parts of the hardware inside, giving the accessories a distinctive appearance inspired by classic transparent gaming designs.
According to the announcement, the new DualSense controllers will cost approximately $85, while the matching PlayStation 5 console covers will be priced at around $75.
The new collection is designed for players who want more customization options beyond the standard PlayStation accessories. Its transparent appearance offers a different look compared with conventional solid-colored controllers and console covers.
Three Transparent Color Options
The PS5 Prism Collection will be available in three colors, each offering a different visual style.
Flare Orange provides a bright and bold appearance, making it suitable for players who prefer more noticeable gaming accessories. Emerald Green introduces a distinctive green transparent finish, while Graphite Gray offers a darker and more understated look.
The transparent materials allow users to see selected internal components, creating a hardware-inspired design. This approach gives the accessories a nostalgic feel while maintaining the modern appearance of Sony’s current gaming platform.
The matching console covers are also intended to complement the controllers, allowing users to create a coordinated look across their gaming equipment.
DualSense Controllers and Console Covers
The collection includes updated cosmetic designs for Sony’s DualSense wireless controllers. These controllers retain the familiar PlayStation control layout while introducing the new transparent exterior.
The DualSense controller is known for features such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, which provide additional physical sensations during supported games. The Prism Collection focuses on appearance and customization rather than announcing changes to the controller’s core functionality.
The matching PS5 console covers will allow owners to update the exterior appearance of compatible consoles. However, buyers should check compatibility with their specific PS5 model before purchasing.
With controllers priced at approximately $85 and console covers at around $75, the collection targets gamers willing to spend extra on personalized accessories.
Pre-Orders and Release Date
Sony has announced that pre-orders for the Prism Collection will begin on November 10, 2026. The accessories are scheduled to become available for purchase on February 4, 2027.
The announcement gives PlayStation fans several months to consider their preferred color and plan their purchases ahead of the retail launch.
The new transparent accessories could attract gamers who enjoy customizing their consoles and creating visually distinctive gaming setups. The three color choices also provide alternatives for players who prefer something different from traditional PlayStation designs.
With its transparent finish, multiple color options and matching accessories, Sony’s Prism Collection introduces another customization option for the PS5 community.
