Punjab Government Launches Free Laptop Distribution Under CM Laptop Scheme 2025

Major Step Toward Digital Empowerment

Public sector students across Punjab have reason to celebrate as the provincial government begins distributing laptops under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025.
Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed that the initiative officially kicks off today (Wednesday) in Lahore.

The grand inauguration ceremony is being held at the prestigious University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, where Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will personally hand over laptops to deserving students.

First Phase: 21,000 Laptops in Lahore

According to the Education Minister, 21,000 students will receive their laptops at today’s launch event. This significant number marks just the beginning, as the program will expand across all divisions of Punjab in the coming days.

Ceremonies will be organized division-wise to ensure a smooth and transparent distribution process.

Total 110,000 Laptops to be Distributed

The scheme aims to distribute 110,000 laptops to students enrolled in public sector universities and colleges across Punjab. This move is a fulfillment of the government’s promise to promote educational and digital access for youth.

Rana Sikandar Hayat emphasized, “Unlike others, we don’t make empty promises. We act—and today is proof of that.”

Students and parents have warmly welcomed the initiative, highlighting the importance of digital tools in modern education.

Future Prospects

Experts believe that access to laptops will not only boost academic productivity but also enhance students’ readiness for competitive job markets.

Additionally, the initiative is expected to support e-learning, research, and entrepreneurial ventures among the youth of Punjab.
