The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has advanced its 5G preparedness efforts by hosting a comprehensive technical training session at its Islamabad headquarters. Conducted in collaboration with Rohde and Schwarz, the program aimed to equip PTA officials with the skills and knowledge required for the next phase of 5G deployment in Pakistan.
The training included in-depth sessions on network testing, 5G migration strategies, methodologies and standards, analytics, and time division duplex (TDD) measurements. Technical experts from Rohde and Schwarz Pakistan, the company’s MENA team, and trainers from Europe delivered the sessions, offering hands-on guidance and international best practices.
Dr. Khawar Siddiq Khokhar, Member Compliance and Enforcement at PTA, praised the partnership with Rohde and Schwarz, emphasizing the importance of continuous skill development for the authority’s staff. He acknowledged Managing Director Haris Ali and the international experts for their role in ensuring the training’s success.
The initiative reflects PTA’s commitment to building technical capacity and strengthening regulatory oversight as Pakistan moves closer to nationwide 5G implementation. The authority noted that such collaborations are essential for aligning domestic telecom infrastructure with global 5G standards.
Industry observers consider this training a critical step toward seamless 5G rollout, ensuring that technical teams are well-prepared to manage network operations, compliance, and quality assurance once services are launched.
As Pakistan prepares for the next phase of 5G deployment, initiatives like this training session demonstrate the country’s proactive approach to technology adoption and digital infrastructure development.
